Ok,

I'll admit it.

Every knitter has a weakness, and mine is socks
Specifically socks made out of bright self-striping sock yarn, that make simple socks created out of knitting in the round for days on end, with easy short row heels that don't need any gusset and preserve the precious integrity of the stripes....
I think I'm about to decide that absolutely no one can have too many pairs of socks....
And well.... at least my feet have stopped growing lol

If anyone needs me I'll be in the corner....
Casting on the next pair of socks....

The cool thing about the method that I use to knit socks (It's called Magic loop knitting) is that when you get to the part where you would normally have to put stitches onto waste yarn and or stitch holders, you don't have to. You just leave those stitches on the cable on the circular needles and work the other stitches back and forth to make the heel. You can also do it if you do the socks on 2 pairs of circular needles, I just prefer to not have extra needles hanging around because it seems to me it would get really confusing, really quickly.
If I lived anywhere near you I would come and teach you though :-). It is much easier to learn from real people who you can ask to move or show it again and watch from a different angle, or ask questions from than doing it online. Luckily Manna had figured out the wrapped stitches on her own for the short row toe and was able to teach me. Otherwise, I don't know how long it would have taken me to figure it out.
And I agree with you about no seam. I hate finishing, and this method gives me exactly 2 ends to weave in, the cast on and the cast off ends. And that makes me happy :-D

That does sound interesting. I need someone to have the patience and is here. I wish you could pass on the knowledge. That does sound a bit simpler. The one person that I know that really knows how to knit socks has been doing so for a long time so it is very easy for her. She can practically knit them in her sleep. It would not be that easy for me to learn. I should keep that in mind.
